The Digital Experience team at Verizon is hiring a Mobile Developer to build and support the My Fios mobile app. Your main focus will be fixing urgent bugs and developing new features to solve customer pain points. Work will initially be prioritized by the technical product manager; however, you would be expected to eventually take a more active role in prioritizing and defining the customer experience for the Verizon CMB Digital group.

This is a unique role to work within a dynamic group that is defining the future of customer experience inside of a Fortune 15 business. Job Responsibilities:

  • Write clean, maintainable code for a product that will be used by millions of users
  • Work on mobile bugs and escalations from support and other business teams
  • Quickly iterate, test, and launch incremental upgrades and major feature releases
  • Follow-through with requests to/dependencies on other IT teams, such as billing systems, and communicate them to product management
  • Liaise closely with the greater mobile IT team to serve as the business’ technical representative
  • Help prioritize and manage a backlog of bugs and enhancements
  • Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT/computer related degree, or equivalent work experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • 3+ years of software development experience with 2+ years of experience developing native iOS mobile applications (including UI implementation, WebView integration, consumption of XML/JSON/REST services, and CoreData/databases)
  • 1+ years of experience in iOS (XCode / Objective-C / Swift) – Swift preferred.
  • Experience with the iOS Human Interface Guidelines (HIG).
  • Experience creating adaptive layouts using Storyboards, AutoLayout, SizeClasses.
  • Passion for great application architecture and user-experience.
  • General understanding of the mobile industry, mobile networking, and cloud/content services.
  • Intimate knowledge of iOS devices, platform and application experiences
  • Excellent debugging skills
  • Evidence of being self-motivated and driven
  • Experience collaborating on software projects – show us that you can communicate and work effectively as part of a team

Desired Skills:

  • Experience as a support engineer/developer
  • Problem-solving, resourcefulness and forward-thinking in UI/UX design, specifically for mobile
  • A GitHub account with some interesting projects; having published applications to the Apple App Store is a plus
  • IT and project leadership experience (or desire to develop this skillset)
  • Experience creating products with various business and IT units in an enterprise environment working with back-office systems
  • 2+ years of experience with RDBMS (SQL Server or Oracle) or NoSQL (MongoDB, CassandraDB, etc.)
  • Experience with Git, JIRA, and Jenkins tools
  • Android development experience
